Most spicy food on most menus is a dare. It is built so you can tell somebody you finished it. That is a fine thing to sell, but it is not really lunch, because you cannot eat it on a Wednesday and then go back to work.

Daredevil Chicken is the one built for people who want to feel it. The name is not decoration. Spicy Chicken Strip goes a different direction, with crispy strips and heat that comes from the coating rather than from a pepper. And the Quesadilla, which is not a spicy item at all, still has a pepper-jack warmth running underneath it that surprises people.

Poblano sits in the middle of all of that on purpose. More interesting than the mild items, considerably less demanding than the Daredevil. It is the one we recommend when somebody says they want spicy food but does not want to spend the afternoon recovering from lunch.

Ordering it for a group

This is a safe pick for a mixed order, which is not true of everything spicy. Most people can eat a poblano wrap comfortably, so you are not gambling on somebody's tolerance. If you are feeding a crew and want one item with personality that will not strand anybody, this is it.
